Free parcel data in Kansas
Kansas has no single free statewide parcel layer we could verify, but many counties publish their own. Basesheet currently uses 3 Kansas county services: Sedgwick, Shawnee, Wyandotte.

MapServer layer (native SR ESRI 102678, KS South ftUS). Geometry and ids only: no owner, situs, legal or deed fields. PIN is an 8-digit string with leading zeros ('00116113'); AIN is the 18-19 character Kansas uniform parcel number, sometimes with a letter suffix ('087124200110400102', '087124200110200500C'); GEOCODE is a space-padded appraiser code (' A 159060002'). A hosted copy with the same ids is services7.arcgis.com/McLat6HlPl45bNBv/arcgis/rest/services/Sedgwick_County_Land_Records/FeatureServer/4 (AIN has a trailing space there). Owner/address attributes exist only for county-owned parcels (Map/Op_CountyOwnedProperty_Dynamic_SP).

|---|---|
| Publisher | Shawnee County, Kansas GIS (SNCOGIS, gis.sncoapps.us) |
| Coverage | All of Shawnee County, incl. Topeka |

| Terms | Public, no token; (c) SNCOGIS, no license text on the service |
| Fields | parcel number (PIN, PID, QUICKREFID); site address (PADDRESS); owner (ONAME); deed reference; legal description; subdivision |
| Not published | plat references |
| REST endpoint | https://gis.sncoapps.us/arcgis2/rest/services/Parcels/MapServer/0 |

MapServer layer (native SR ESRI 102677, KS North ftUS), the source for the county Property Search app. PIN is the 16-digit Kansas parcel number without county prefix or separators ('1093104001003000'); PID is identical; QUICKREFID is the appraiser account ('R26360'); PARCELNUM is only the trailing parcel part, not unique. PADDRESS is situs street ('200 SE 7TH ST'); PADDRESS2 holds ' City, KS ZIP' with leading space, so city_field is empty (parse from PADDRESS2 if needed). DBOOKPAGE is the latest deed reference, either book/page or an instrument number like '2026R14754'; '-' means none. The old host gis.snco.us timed out, and the hosted copy on services2.arcgis.com/2XE514jeVQMWNKHX is a 2023 snapshot; do not use either.
Wyandotte County
| Layer | Wyandotte County Parcels (UGMAPS_4_V02_Parcels) |
|---|---|
| Publisher | Unified Government of Wyandotte County/Kansas City, Kansas, GeoSpatial Services Division (gisweb.wycokck.org) |
| Coverage | All of Wyandotte County (KCK, Bonner Springs, Edwardsville, Lake Quivira part); about 68,000 parcels |
| Data vintage | Seamless ownership tax-map parcel layer behind the UG's UGMAPS viewer, current |
| Terms | Public, no token; Unified Government GSS Division, no license text on the layer |
| Fields | parcel number (PARCEL, STATE_ID, ORIONID); owner (OWNER_NAME) |
| Not published | deed references, plat references |
| REST endpoint | https://gisweb.wycokck.org/arcgis/rest/services/UGMAPS/UGMAPS_4_V02_Parcels/MapServer/7 |
| Last verified | 2026-10-20 with a live point and parcel-number query |
MapServer layer 7 'Parcels' (native SR ESRI 102677, KS North ftUS). PARCEL is the 6-character county parcel number with leading zeros ('087645'; PARCEL_NBR is the same as an integer); STATE_ID is the 19-digit Kansas uniform parcel number ('1050621002013001000'); ORIONID is the appraiser account ('R49143'). Situs is split across NUMB (string), DIR, ST_NAME, SUFX with no combined field, so situs_field is empty; ST_NAME can include the type ('7TH ST' + SUFX 'TRFY'). CITY appears to be the situs city. Point queries with inSR=4326 work; NUMB is a string, so quote it in where clauses. Do not use GISPUB/Parcel_Polygons (fewer attributes, editing enabled) or GISPW/PW_Parcels (token required).
How to use it
- QGIS: Layer > Data Source Manager > ArcGIS REST Server, add a connection with the service URL (the endpoint above without the
final
/0), then add the layer. Filter to your area before exporting. - ArcGIS Pro: Add Data > Data From Path, paste the endpoint.
- Direct query: append
/query?geometry=LON,LAT&geometryType=esriGeometryPoint&inSR=4326&spatialRel=esriSpatialRelIntersects&outFields=*&f=geojsonto get the parcel at a point. - CAD: see getting a parcel into AutoCAD or Civil 3D.
Assessor parcel lines are for taxation and are often 5 to 50 ft off the legal boundary. Why.
Basesheet uses this to draw the parcel line on a base plan for any Kansas address, with LiDAR contours, soils, flood zones and wetlands.
