Free parcel data in New Mexico
New Mexico has no single free statewide parcel layer we could verify, but many counties publish their own. Basesheet currently uses 3 New Mexico county services: Doña Ana, Sandoval, Santa Fe.
County layers
Doña Ana County
| Layer | Doña Ana County Assessed Parcels |
|---|---|
| Publisher | Doña Ana County Assessor's Office / County GIS (ArcGIS Online org) |
| Coverage | All of Doña Ana County (about 96,000 parcels) |
| Data vintage | Assessor CAMA extract (copyright text says as of 2026-08-12; layer last edited 2026-09-30) |
| Terms | Public item, no token. Copyright text: 'Dona Ana County Assessor's Office Data extracted from Tyler Technologies Assessor Plus CAMA System'. No license text; assessment-purpose disclaimer in description. |
| Fields | parcel number (PARCELNUMBER, MAP_CODE, ACCOUNTNUMBER); site address (SITUSADDRS); owner (OWNERNAME); subdivision |
| Not published | deed references, plat references |
| REST endpoint | https://services7.arcgis.com/JMIoqakAkedEx0oU/arcgis/rest/services/DAC_Parcels/FeatureServer/0 |
| Last verified | 2026-10-20 with a live point and parcel-number query |
Hosted FeatureServer, native EPSG:2258 (NM Central ftUS, reported as wkid 102713); reprojects on outSR. PARCELNUMBER is the 13-digit map code with no dashes, e.g. '4005135120360'; MAP_CODE is the dashed form '4-005-135-120-360'; ACCOUNTNUMBER is the Assessor account ('R0237271'). Normalize user input by stripping dashes and match PARCELNUMBER. SITUSADDRS has no city; CITY/STATE/ZIP are the mailing address. LOT and BLOCK are separate fields; no deed, plat or full legal field. The Census geocoder names this county 'Doña Ana' (with ñ, GEOID 35013); geocoders that return 'Dona Ana' without the tilde will not match this key unless an alias is added. A county-server copy at gis.donaanacounty.org/server/rest/services/Parcel/MapServer/0 did not return JSON on 2026-10-20.
Sandoval County
| Layer | Sandoval County Parcels |
|---|---|
| Publisher | Sandoval County Assessor's Office GIS Mapping Department (ArcGIS Online org SCMapping) |
| Coverage | All of Sandoval County, taxable and exempt (about 152,000 parcels) |
| Data vintage | Assessor parcel layer, last refreshed 2026-03-05 |
| Terms | Public item, no token. License text: 'For reference use only. Not for legal use.' Copyright credits Sandoval County Assessor GIS Mapping and contributing agencies. |
| Fields | parcel number (Parcel_ID, Account_No); owner (Owner_List); plat reference; subdivision |
| Not published | deed references |
| REST endpoint | https://services3.arcgis.com/CkhxOCyQmitz4nLa/arcgis/rest/services/Sandoval_County_Parcels/FeatureServer/0 |
| Last verified | 2026-10-20 with a live point and parcel-number query |
Hosted FeatureServer, native EPSG:2258 (NM Central ftUS, reported as wkid 102713); reprojects on outSR. Parcel_ID is the NM UPC as a digit string with no dashes, usually 13 digits ('1017073410235') but some are 12 ('101707318061'), so match exactly after stripping dashes and spaces; Account_No is the Assessor account ('R188633'). No situs address field. Bk_Pg is the recorded plat reference as cabinet-page ('3-4996'); Reception_ holds the plat reception number ('2022P01992') when present; both are often blank. Lot, Block, Unit, Tract and Phase are separate fields; Lat/Long are DMS text strings, not numbers. Acrage is text like '9.478 ac'. The City of Rio Rancho publishes its own parcel copy; this county layer is the authoritative one.
Santa Fe County
| Layer | Santa Fe County Tax Parcels |
|---|---|
| Publisher | Santa Fe County Assessor / County GIS (sfcomaps.santafecountynm.gov) |
| Coverage | All of Santa Fe County (about 90,700 features) |
| Data vintage | Live Assessor tax parcel layer (GISEDIT.ASSESSOR.TaxParcels) |
| Terms | Public, no token. No license or copyright text on the service; county disclaimer applies. |
| Fields | parcel number (parcelid, lowparcelid); site address (siteaddress); owner (ownernme1); legal description; subdivision |
| Not published | deed references, plat references |
| REST endpoint | https://sfcomaps.santafecountynm.gov/restsvc/rest/services/TaxParcelsDB/MapServer/0 |
| Last verified | 2026-10-20 with a live point and parcel-number query |
MapServer layer on the county's own server, native EPSG:2258 (NM Central ftUS, reported as wkid 102713); reprojects on outSR. Field names are lowercase. parcelid is the Assessor parcel/account number, 8 or 9 digits ('910017952'); lowparcelid is the 19-character NM UPC padded with zeros ('1054099180227000000'; condos end in 'CM0001' etc.). Try parcelid first; for a 13-digit UPC from the user, match lowparcelid LIKE '<upc>%'. Text fields are space-padded (siteaddress, ownernme1), so trim. siteaddress has no city; pstlcity is the mailing city. prprtydscrp carries the legal description (TRS, map, block, lots). The building and unit fields hold unrelated values on some records. A TaxDistribution table (id 1) sits on the same service.
How to use it
- QGIS: Layer > Data Source Manager > ArcGIS REST Server, add a connection with the service URL (the endpoint above without the
final
/0), then add the layer. Filter to your area before exporting. - ArcGIS Pro: Add Data > Data From Path, paste the endpoint.
- Direct query: append
/query?geometry=LON,LAT&geometryType=esriGeometryPoint&inSR=4326&spatialRel=esriSpatialRelIntersects&outFields=*&f=geojsonto get the parcel at a point. - CAD: see getting a parcel into AutoCAD or Civil 3D.
Assessor parcel lines are for taxation and are often 5 to 50 ft off the legal boundary. Why.
Basesheet uses this to draw the parcel line on a base plan for any New Mexico address, with LiDAR contours, soils, flood zones and wetlands.
